What its like recording as a bass player

Hey guys its been a while since I posted something but these past few weeks have been rather hectic for me anyways today I would like to talk about the experience of recording is like as a bass player.

Now in all honesty if you know your parts then the recording process for you will be fun and quick much like sex the first time BOOM. Putting aside my lame joke lets move on when recording bass parts at a studio, whether in a garage or at a legitimate studio, be sure that you have your bass in pitch perfect tuning with the rest of the guitar players you might think that it doesn’t matter but an out of tune bass will defiantly show after mixing is complete. Once you have your bass in tune, with hopefully some nice new strings, you have to record your parts.

For some reason a lot of people have a feeling of nervousness when it comes to recording but if you take the time to realize that you’re just playing to everyone in your band then you will catch on to the fact that recording is one of the most fun things you will ever do with your band. Like I said earlier if you know your parts then it shouldn’t take you long to finish your tracks which gives you the ability to work with different instruments and amp combinations. By this I mean that you could record one song with completely different gear from the one before or after it but usually you will only get this luxury at legitimate studios. Of course knowing that you have one of the easiest roles in the recording process this gives you plenty of time to help your other band members make there recording process easier.

Helping guitar players tune up and sound good always gives you a sense of proudness and makes your bands recording process easier. Of course you can’t be sure that you won’t have a nervous band member so the best way to help them is give them positive reinforcement. Now this may sound like common sense but many people will forget to help their band members out after they are done with their parts so just remember to be there for the rest of your band even if your not doing anything.

All in all the recording process can be a great experience for everyone in a band you just have to come prepared and enjoy the time you have at the studio with all the people present. Thanks for reading this guys I’ll try to post something soon but my band is going on tour for a couple weeks and I’ll be sure to have some stories about that see you all and take care
